Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and Health Care Settings
Introduces students to fundamental research-based principles of learning and teaching adults, with a focus on applications in higher education and health professions education. The main goals of the course are to become aware of teaching, learning, and assessment practices that facilitate meaningful learning, while also developing some basic skills in designing and delivering instruction that take advantage of relevant instructional technologies. Special attention and activities are devoted to examining effective and responsible uses of AI as an “assistant” in the instructional design process and implementation of lessons. Designed to meet the diverse needs and interests of a broad range of graduate students, teachers, and working professionals interested or currently working in higher education and health care settings.
