Advanced practicum in clinical mental health counseling
This course provides graduate students with continued supervised clinical experience in diverse counseling settings, building on the foundational skills developed in the practicum and/or internship course(s). Students engage in direct client contact while refining the clinical competencies in case conceptualization, diagnosis and treatment of mental and emotional disorders, evidenced based theories and interventions, ethical and legal considerations, and culturally sustaining practices. Weekly group supervision provides a structured space for clinical reflection, skill development, and integration of theory working with diverse clients across the lifespan.
