Examines organizational theory and dynamics focusing on school as a complex organization, emphasizing school as complex systems. Highlights the critical role of mission/vision, culture, family engagement and the processes involved in organizational change. Students examine leadership theories, models, and ethical behaviors needed for leadership roles within schools and districts. Integrates real-world applications, current trends and challenges in education, including the navigation of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence (AI). Students explore implications of AI in areas such as leadership decision-making, teaching and learning, student use and school operations. Simulations and practical applications are emphasized throughout the course.
