Entry Level Courses

Up to 30 credits of coursework in entry-level/advanced courses in a combination of the following areas. learning, teaching, curriculum, diversity, subject matter of specialization (NOTE. Often these credits are transferred from previous graduate degrees.)

Program Core

Select at least two courses to develop depth in your area of specialization. Advanced Seminars are strongly recommended and can be taken more than once if offered by different instructors.

Doctoral Milestones and Dissertation Research

At least one advanced research methods course, as most appropriate to support the chosen dissertation topic; eligible courses include, but are not limited to. Combination of ED 595. Ph.D. Research (Dissertation) (at least 15 credits recommended), ED 596. Research Apprenticeship (0-12 credits), ED 591. Independent Study, and/or other courses related to your dissertation, for a total of at least 30 credits.
